The artist known as Atlas Moan was recently in the hospital for a routine procedure. While in the recovery room before being discharged, he realized how dependent on machines our human lives have become. One device was constantly monitoring his heartbeat, while another would periodically check his blood pressure. If anything were to go wrong the nurses nearby, who were busy filling out paperwork and making phone calls, would be alerted. He looked around at other patients in this noisy room full of beeping equipment. He thought, perhaps in the future there will be those who deify machines and worship them as our saviors for all they have done. Our survival is in their mechanical hands. Not all will approve of such a practice though.
