High Sign is the brainchild of Joe Zeitlin from London, England. He began producing music at the age of 15 and within a short amount of time was performing live. Most of his shows were impromptu, taking place at squat parties where he would use his friend's sound system. The type of music being played was more aligned with breakcore, whereas now he delves into IDM territory. Zeitlin also composes classical music and works on soundtracks for film/video productions when he isn't creating electronic music. The inspiration for "Birdeater" came from the fact that he was being woken up every morning, about an hour before his alarm clock would go off, by the sound of a bird. At first he was quite irritated, but he eventually noticed a rave-esque rhythm to the bird's song. He translated this into a digital waveform, added more layers, and from there the track came into being. "Steaks" is a continuation of the same concept, using similar textures as the former track in this two-part package.
